Sandy has her Master of Fine Art Degree in Photography from the University of Cincinnati,
College of Art, Architecture, Art and Planning (https://www.daap.uc.edu ). Her B.S. is from SUNY
New Paltz, NY. She also took a year long series of courses in Commercial Photography at the
Germain School of Photography, NYC. She continued her education in various photo topics
through the International Center of Photography, NYC (https://www.icp.org ), Santa Fe
Photographic Workshops, Santa Fe, NY (https://santafeworkshops.com ), George Eastman
House, Rochester, NY (https://www.eastman.org ), and worked privately with Dan Burkholder
(https://www.danburkholder.com/#/ ). Her workshops included instructors such as Julianne
Kost (https://jkost.net ), Mark Osterman ( https://www.collodion.org ), Dan Burkholder, and
others. She has taught photography at the University of Cincinnati, Evening College, Mt. St.
Joseph College, Cincinnati, OH, Alma College, Alma, MI where she became a full professor of Art
& Design focusing on Photography and Graphic Design. She also was the Chair of the
Department prior to her retirement in 2019. Her final professional higher education work was
with Keiser University, Pembrook Pines, FL where she was the Graphic Design Department Head
and coordinator for three other campuses until 2022.
Her work is in the Columbus Art Museum, Columbus, OH, Bronx Art Museum, NY, and in various
corporate and private collections. She is an award-winning photographer garnishing awards
from her various extensive national and international exhibitions. Many of her awards were
from curators of photographic institutions throughout the US. Her work is also published in
books and newspapers. She is presently working on a new web site that will be coming soon.
